ABOUT SARAH C - ARTIST & DESIGNER

Art and Design are my obsessions! I am an artist and graphic designer based in Mangawhai Heads, Northland, New Zealand. I have been painting, creating and designing throughout my life and my work is in private collections both in New Zealand as well as Spain, Canada, Britain and France. I have also created public artworks, in the way of murals.

My Maori ancestry comes from the Coromandel and Ngati Porou descent, however I spent my childhood and teenage years in Mangawhai Heads, Northland. My mothers people travelled from Newcastle in the early 1900's and settled in Northland. Both the Coromandel and Northland regions have played a large part in the inspiration of my artworks.

As New Zealanders, I think we are extremely lucky to be surrounded by such magnificent beauty, beaches and bush. As an artist, to be able to capture the essence of the landscape or the feelings evoked from the landscape and draw it into a specific space, whether out in the garden or into your lounge or office, is the most rewarding of gifts.

I have recently returned to live in Mangawhai Heads along with my partner Colin and our pet dog Belle. We have transformed a 1970's roadside stall into a small gallery space which customers are welcome to visit by appointment.

Sarah C artworks are offered in a range of mediums, some are designed for hanging indoors as well as outside.

LIMITED, OPEN AND ARTISTS EDITION

All large Sarah C Corrugated Iron Artworks are of a Limited Edition. This means that there will only ever be a set number created. After that no more can be produced. On the back of the panel is the authentic Sarah C signature and the number. The number will be for example, 12/15. This means it is piece number 12 out of 15 created. Sometimes I will sign a piece A/E this stands for Artists Edition or artists proof.

All other pieces in other mediums are Open Edition. This means there is no limit to the amount produced. Sometimes it may be only one or two, others may be more.

ORIGINAL SARAH C ARTWORKS

These are usually mastered using acrylic paints on board. But occasionally Sarah will get right in there with varied mediums. Anything from oils sticks, paint charcoal and even the odd dash of concrete is used to create depth and texture in her artworks. These are generally viewed and made for sale very rarely and very privately. Original Sarah C artworks are in the $1000's to buy.
